Position Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will strategize and execute an Apera AI sales plan within their designated territory to exceed sales targets. The BDM will discover and understand customer automation needs to prospect and drive sales opportunities to successful deployments. Cross-functional collaboration within internal and external technical, commercial, and management teams will be critical for scalable success. The BDM will interact with customers, system integrators, distributors, and other solution providers to network and build sustainable partnerships. This position reports to the Western Region Sales Manager. Ideal candidates will be remotely based in the Northwestern US or Northern California.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Responsible for sales goals/quota
- Hunt for new sales opportunities
- Drive KPIs and action plans
- Manage pipeline, forecasts, and action plans in CRM
- Qualify leads with effective follow through
- Align with customers, integrators, distributors, and manufacturers
- Represent company at tradeshows and other events
- Learn growing automation products, trends, and solutions
- Travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technical or related field
- Outside sales experience
- Track record of sales success
- Experienced with customers, integrators, distributors, and manufacturers
- Industrial automation and technical solution sales experience
- Proficiency building and communicating value propositions to end-users
- Business acumen with different levels of organizational decision makers
